Backstory
Kazuo was born to a very wealthy family; his parents were doctors. When Kazuo was a baby, he was in a car accident that caused a shard of bone to enter his brain, and they were unable to remove it. It caused him to have a detachment issue and he is unable to feel emotions. He was carefully protected by his family, and even when he committed crimes, they covered for him. He was a genius, and they hoped that if they just got him the right motivation he could be something amazing. Kazuo instead became a leader of a violent gang at school. His minions called him “Boss” because he was the best fighter of all of them and the brains behind their schemes. He was smart enough to let his friends take the fall for their crimes, and he was handsome and such a good student that most people didn’t believe he was capable of wrongdoing. Kazuo studied everything he could find. He was seen as quiet and studious, but with something that was just never quite right. Kazuo had a particular passion of anatomy and medicine, planning to be a surgeon. He also read great deal about martial arts. This combination allowed him to know just where to hit a person to land a debilitating or fatal shot. When the class was taken to the Battle Royale site, Kazuo’s first response was to preserve his own life, by murdering all his friends and stealing their weapons and supplies. He repeated this with anyone he encountered, and was able to keep himself alive until the very end of the game, being one of the last ones standing before being killed by Shuya and Noriko.
Personality
Kazuo is taciturn, studies things carefully, and shows no obvious emotions. He feels virtually nothing but physical sensations, and focuses solely on his own survival.Kazuo will act friendly toward people who he feels may benefit him in some way, either to fight for him or give him supplies. If these people die, he feels nothing and simply moves on. He gives off an aura of “something not quite right,” but most people aren’t able to decipher what that might be. Kazuo loves to study, and is athletic, but doesn’t really care if he wins or loses. He will do anything, even kill, to ensure that he has what he wants or needs to survive. He feels no fear and very little pain.
Kazuo is a great shot with a machine gun, but can also use weapons like knives in a pinch, or will simply rely on his fists.
