Backstory

There isn't much known about Luxord's past, aside from that he's evidently English and the Tenth member of Organization XIII (he also seems to get along with Xigbar and Demyx, from the cutscenes in Final Mix).

The first place you encounter him is on the Tenth's mission to Port Royal, where he's manipulating the people of the town and using their corruption to form a rather large Heartless. He had even gone as far as to steal cursed Aztec gold, making his creation all the harder to beat, then hijacked the Black Pearl (though he seemed to have returned the ship quietly and without ill-will to Elizabeth, one of two people left on the ship after he knocked Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Captain Jack Sparrow onto the Interceptor and blew it to pieces). After being forced into one of the Nobody's games, Sora defeated Luxord's 'Grim Reaper', thus unleashing the heart from the creature. Ten gave his compliments to Sora's fighting skills and made his leave, taking the heart back with him.

The second encounter was back in The World That Never Was, shortly after Axel had lead Sora and his friends to the Organization's castle with his dying strength. Sora fought Luxord almost immediately after defeating Xigbar, Luxord giving barely any warning or even so much as an introduction before kidnapping the boy's friends and forcing him into battle. Despite Ten's best efforts to beat him, Sora won his little "game," and Luxord faded into the darkness asking how "Roxas" could ever do such a thing to him.

Personality

Number X can be a bit on the strange side. He can be unmotivated, uncaring, and likes to drift aimlessly in thought, examining the areas around him. He enjoys watching others (in a non-stalker way, I amend) as if they were merely puzzles for him to work out. Time and Fate interest him endlessly, making him susceptible to losing his train of thought when those subjects are prompted. He has issues about being discourteous to women: the elderly and children, especially. He finds it amusing to fluster people by going thesaurus-happy on them.

Overall, however, he is not a nice man.

Beneath the pleasantries, Luxord is cruel, sarcastic, slightly insane, yet oddly charming. He's rude and uncaring to everyone around him and he has no problem being an asshole. Unlike most other members of Organization XIII, Luxord uses tactics and his knowledge of the enemy instead of brute force, opting to learn how a certain person thinks before twisting stories and pulling heartstrings to get them on his side. He's quite efficient at thinking on his toes and a master at probability and statistics. He'd much rather have another do his dirty work, though that isn't to say he's entirely defenseless. When forced into a corner, he gets rather vicious; making the offender play his own little "game" - winner takes all (unfortunately, he can also be a total pushover. :( The second you knock him out of his attacks, he goes down like he decided to be your whore for the day).

Much like his actual age suggests, Luxord can be abrasive, self-centered, and a bit of a smart-ass. He has a tendency to be completely inconsiderate of the people around him, often times angering others for no particular reason than his own amusement. Really, every thing just boils down to "can-be-fun" and "is-not-fun" to him. He just doesn't care a lot of the time.
