Backstory
For the first few years of his life, Omi had a relatively normal existence as your average little kid, growing up in an influential and very rich Japanese family. He was born Takatori Mamoru, supposedly the son of Takatori Reiji, head of the Takatori family and a well known business man. It would later become known that he was actually the product of an affair between Reiji's wife and his brother, Takatori Shuichi, which led to a number of bad things for then-Mamoru. He also had two much older brothers, Hirofumi and Masafumi. Masafumi has little to do with his younger brother, preferring to spend his time studying and pulling the wings off butterflies. Hirofumi, on the other hand, was very attentive to young Mamoru and often spent time with him.

When he was eight, Mamoru was kidnapped and held for ransom. This shouldn't have proved much of a problem for the very rich Takatori family, but Reiji refused to pay, sentencing his son to a very painful death at the hands of the angry kidnappers. He saw it as a convenient way to get rid of an unwanted reminder of his wife's unfaithfulness. At the last minute, a mysterious figure stepped in to save Mamoru, helping him escape from the kidnappers and delivering him to a secret organization known as Kritiker. The figure was Persia, head of Kritiker, who also happened to be Takatori Shuichi, Mamoru's 'uncle.' Following the incident, Mamoru developed amnesia and was renamed Tsukiyono Omi. For the better part of the next ten years, he would have no memory of who he had been before he was Omi. Kritiker replaced any family he had known, which led to an almost blind devotion to the organization.

He was trained by Kritiker to be an assassin, learning to use a crossbow and poison-filled darts as weapons because of his young age. A hand-to-hand weapon wielded by a ten-year-old would have been ineffective, but ranged weaponsthat didn't rely on strength were ideal. They also allowed a more impersonal kill than close weapons. He had his first kill long before he was actually assigned to a team. At fourteen, he joined the group Weiss Kreuz as the leader and mission planner despite his young age. He was soon joined by Hidaka Ken and Kudoh Yohji. Over the following years, they would take a number of missions for Kritiker, and eventually be joined two years later by Fujimiya Aya. Weiss's job was to 'hunt the futures of dark beasts.' In other words, they were assassins who killed people who, according to Kritiker at least, deserved to be killed.

During the day, their cover was the Kitten in the House Flowershop. Mild-mannered florists by day, white hunters by night. He also had the added job of pretending to be a normal high school student during the day which meant long nights and little sleep between mission, school, and the flower shop. Somehow, he always managed to balance homework and mission work. He viewed his team members as family, usually addressing them as if they were all brothers. Lately on missions, though, he'd been getting occasional odd flashes which were starting to make him doubt 'Omi.' He still didn't remember anything of being Mamoru, but he knew he was something before Kritiker found him.

Personality
Omi is one of those genuinely happy people that really don't come along very often. He usually tries his very best to see the upshot to any situation and the silver lining to every cloud. He doesn't always succeed, but he does try. Because of this, he often comes across as naive or too trusting. He's sometimes a little too eager to take people and situations at face value, which can be dangerous, but his training has helped counteract that somewhat. He's trusting and loyal almost to a fault and would truly like it very much if everyone could just get along.

His attitude can simultaneously make him appear younger and older than he is. He still seems innocent for a 17-year-old, although how much of it is for show, just part of the 'persona' that is Tsukiyono Omi, isn't easy to tell. He blushes if teased about sex, tends to pout very cutely when people ignore him, and isn't above mercilessly teasing or sticking his tongue out at his teammates. On the other hand, he tends to be more serious and focused than your average teenager. That is what makes him a good choice to lead a team of assassins, together with his dedication to both those close to him and those he's vowed to protect. The latter often included the population at large when it means stopping some madman or other with Weiss. He's smarter than he looks or sometimes acts, especially since he's well aware of how to use his looks to his advantage. Despite his trusting nature, his brain is always turned on and thinking about the situations he finds himself in.

Underneath 'Omi,' is Bombay, leader of Weiss. Possibly because of the trauma that originally caused his amnesia and his unorthodox childhood after the kidnapping, he tends to keep Omi and Bombay somewhat separate. On missions, there's no doubt that Bombay is in charge and very competent. That competence and level-headedness tends to shine through whenever Omi finds himself in a tight spot. The separation of his personality does lead to some unwanted side effects. Most notably that Omi is prone to emotional outbursts when he's upset, which sometimes leads to very bad judgment.

One of the things that drives him the hardest is his unknown past, and he constantly works to discover who and what he was before Weiss. Despite everything, though, he rarely lets bad things keep him down for long.

At Landel's
No sooner did Omi appear on the afternoon of Day 22 than he ran into the Landel's version of Fujimiya Aya in the library. After a confusing conversation, which really did no more than make Omi wonder about alternate universes and monster-filled insane asylums, he spent the rest of the afternoon making friends, most especially with his roommate Kurama. That night, he, Aya, and Kurama were going to meet up with Kudoh Yohji, but they were stopped by a flood of rats.

On Day 23, he evaded and eventually answered some of Kurama's questions, asked his own questions of Yohji, and learned cribbage from Edward Elric. Finally, during nightshift, he and Kurama headed out to the equipment shed of the recreation field and, after some trouble with a giant spider, acquired a few useful weapons.

Day 24 is starting off quite well, with sleeping in and much teasing of Yohji with the help of Kurama.
